An exciting opportunity has arisen due to rapid business growth for a candidate to join the SVL Sales Team as a Desk Based Business Development Representative.

As a Business Development Representative, you will play a vital role in driving the growth of our business by researching and collating information to enable SVL to offer its services to relevant organisations.

Your research may identify and qualify potential sales opportunities and people who are interested in staying in touch with SVL.

You will be responsible for promoting our business, maintaining contact with potential clients through all channels, including social media, email campaigns and conducting initial meetings and booking appointments over the telephone where appropriate.

Through this process you will effectively communicate the value proposition of SVL and our solutions and value add services.

You will be mentored by an experienced Account Director and supported by the wider team, giving you access to the skills and knowledge that you will need to be successful.

They will be a great ongoing support for you and if you are interested, they can help you to progress into a customer facing sales and Account Management role.

Role Type: Full time or Part Time including flexible hybrid working within core office hours (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm).

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Support the Account Directors by researching and investigating target accounts including technology stack, company values and digital transformation goals / projects.
  • Proactively create opportunity to target accounts through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, and networking events.
  • Maintain up-to-date CRM data, including contact information and preferences.
  • Assist Account Directors with specific messaging and collateral for targeted outreach that aligns with industry and vertical trends.
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to create and promote marketing campaigns that drive prospect engagement.
  • Support the marketing team with collateral used for prospecting, presales meetings, onboarding documentation.
  • Prospect and qualify leads through cold calling, email outreach, and networking events.
  • Conduct thorough research to understand potential clients’ needs, challenges, and decision-making processes.
  • Schedule and participate in initial meetings with key stakeholders to introduce our Account Directors, products and services.
  • Audit and maintain collateral used for prospecting, presales meetings (PowerPoints), onboarding documentation etc – responsible for ‘the clean set’ not necessarily the creation.
  • Assist with maintenance of Public Sector listings and work with wider SVL colleagues to have all services added and updated in a timely manner across relevant tender frameworks.

Essential Experience/Key Competencies:

  • Experience in a sales or business development role, preferably in the technology sector or contact centre sales environment.
  • Persistence and resilience in an environment with a long and complex sales cycle.
  • Time management skills required for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team environment is important.
  • Self-motivated and driven when working on solo projects; a starter/finisher of work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with potential clients.
  • Desirable experience using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • A willingness to learn and be successful
